Advisory Board of the Seattle Study Club
Dr. Corino is the local “Prosthodontic expert” for the NJ Apex Seminars Section of the Seattle Study Club. There are only 750 study clubs throughout the world. As an advisor, he is responsible for teaching, guiding and helping the general dentists understand prosthodontics. In addition, Dr. Corino will be lecturing on the different implant systems for the group in January, 2012.

How long has your practice been in business?
Advanced Dentistry of New Providence, formerly known as Murray Hill Prosthodontists, was established in 1980.
Why was the name changed from Murray Hill Prosthodontists to Advanced Dentistry of New Providence?
We decided to change our name because many of our patients still don’t know what a Prosthodontist is. Everyone who graduates an accredited dental school is a “General Dentist”. To become a Prosthodontist, you must continue your dental education for at least two years. That Prosthodontic residency concentrates on correcting complex dental and oral problems. In addition, Prosthodontists also treat sleep apnea and Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders (TMJ disorders). In an effort to help further educate our patients, Advanced Dentistry of New Providence will soon be publishing newsletters as well as holding continuing education classes in our Murray Hill office.

While we welcome referrals from other dentists, a referral is not necessary to make an appointment with us.
Are there any forms I need to fill out before my first visit?
Yes, there are information forms available on our website that you can fill out and bring with you for your first appointment. This will save you time at your initial appointment. If you don’t fill the forms out before your scheduled time, please plan to arrive at our office at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment so you have adequate time to complete the forms.
What do you expect of me as a patient on my first visit?
Being prepared for your first appointment will ensure the doctor has all the information needed to provide the best possible care for you. You can educate yourself on various conditions and treatments by reviewing the content of this website. The initial visit involves the doctor obtaining your medical history. When you share your medical history with the doctor, be sure to provide complete and up-to-date information. Inform your doctor if you have experienced recent hospitalization or surgery, or if you have been ill recently. Bring any recent radiographs. Also come prepared to tell your doctor the names, doses, and frequency of any prescription or over-the counter medications you are taking. All this information will help us select the most safe and effective method of treatment for you.
What can I expect from the doctor on my first visit?
The initial visit to our office involves obtaining your medical and dental history. Your first visit may also include x-rays, models and a periodontal evaluation that allow your doctor to better understand your particular situation. After evaluating all your information and understanding your needs, the doctor will discuss treatment plans, options and fees with you in detail.

What are your payment terms and what are my payment options?
Payment is expected at the time of your office visit. For your convenience, Advanced Dentistry of New Providence accepts Visa, Mastercard, and personal checks.The cost of treatment varies depending on the severity of the patient’s dental issues. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins.
Are your services covered by my insurance plan?
If you have insurance, we will help you determine the coverage you have available. Please note your dental insurance is a contract between you and the insurance company, not between your dentist and the insurance company. While we will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions, you are responsible for payment of the services provided by Advanced Dentistry of New Providence.
What is a Prothodontist?
A Prosthodontist is a dentist who has continued their formal dental education with an additional two years of specialized training. The specialty concentrates with the restoration and maintenance of oral function by replacing missing and damaged teeth and other oral structures with special devices that are designed and fabricated specifically for each patient. These devices include the aesthetic enhancements using crowns, bridges, partial and complete dentures, dental implants, porcelain, composite, gold and silver fillings. A Prosthodontist also identifies and treats bite problems that cause headaches, shoulder and neck pain, and TMJ (jaw joint) sounds and pain. Advanced Dentistry of New Providence also provides a full range of aesthetic procedures to improve your personal appearance. These procedures include porcelain veneers, LUMINEERS®, Snap-On Smile®, whitening of teeth, and closing spaces between teeth.

How does a Prosthodontist differ from other dentists?
A Prosthodontist is a dentist who has continued their formal dental education in an accredited full time program for a minimum of two years specializing in complex oral rehabilitation.

Advanced Dentistry of New Providence has a full time registered Dental Hygienist that treats and maintains our patients while under the direct supervision of our doctors.
Besides the specialty of Prosthodontics, do the doctors at Advanced Dentistry of New Providence have any additional training?
In addition to the specialty of Prosthodontics, our doctors have a certificate of dental implantology from Harvard University School of Dentistry and a Masters of Science in Nutrition and Human Biology. Our doctors continue their dental education with annual aesthetic and implant national meetings and seminars.
